Teaching
Drum lessons, inside a private studio
A small, selective roster, any level. Real kit, treated room, recording craft built into every lesson. Most students book in packs of four or twelve, at a lower price per lesson.

05. About
The story
Originally from Ottawa, Alexy found the drums at thirteen and never really put the sticks down. Years of Latin and jazz study with percussionist Jack McGregor led to the performance and music interpretation program at Carleton University with Mike Essoudry.
Since then, music has become his whole job. He produces and mixes records, engineers live sessions, and composes for film and television. He has played festival stages including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Les Francos, SXSW, the Ottawa Blues Festival and Sound City, and his music has been placed in television series including Degrassi and Top Chef.
He has taught drums since 2013, to students of every age and level, and leads workshops built on collaboration and hands-on learning. One of his former students, Emma Anders, went on to found Jamhouse Records, where Alexy remains the in-house mix engineer.
